Mary Annabell (Ann) Leetham Whittle

4/24/1916 ~ 6/28/2008

Born in Salt Lake City, April 24, 1916 to Mary Ann Horman andStephen Leetham. The family moved to Union in 1919, then to Murray in 1934, where she met Roy Whittle. They were later married in June 1939 and had 60 wonderful years together. They enjoyed traveling, fishing and camping with family and friends. Ann also loved to bake, cook, and do crafts and ceramics.

She was a wonderful mom, always supportive and loving. Her Christian values have been a great influence on her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by family and friends and all whose lives she touched.

She is survived by a daughter,

Karen (Jules) Gyurecz, of New Jersey; a son, Dale (Paula) Whittle, South Jordan; one grandson, Kevin Gyurecz, New Jersey; two grand-daughters, Kim (Paul) Bell, Colorado; and Kelly (Greg) Trotter, New Jersey. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren: Lance, Leigha, and Morgan and Riley, whom she loved very much. She is also survived by one sister, Elaine (Bud) Smith, of Murray; and two sisters-in-law: Midge Leetham of Prescott, Arizona; and Mildred France, of Taylorsville.

Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband Roy after 60 years together. Also preceded in death by brothers, Steve, Merrill, and Duane, sister, Faye, granddaughters, Ruthie and Leslie Whittle and many in-laws and friends.

Ann was a member of Murray Baptist Church. She was active in the Women's Missionary Society, bible studies and sang in the choir for many years.

Funeral services will be held Wed., July 9, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Murray Baptist Church, 184 E. 5770 S. A viewing will take place Tues., July 8, at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So State Street, from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
