DRAPER — Lt. Col. Adam Robinson takes command of the Utah Army National Guard's recruiting efforts Wednesday.
When he does so, he will have the reins of an organization recognized by the National Guard Bureau as one of three states that met goals in six recruiting categories in 2008.
The Utah Army National Guard has about 60 full-time recruiters and 20 staffers assigned to locations throughout Utah.
Robinson takes over for Lt. Col. Mark Drown, who has commanded the Guard's recruiting battalion since 2006.
Drown's next assignment will be as executive officer of the 19th Special Forces Group.
Robinson, who lives in Heber City, began his military career in 1985 and most recently served as chief of staff for I Corps Artillery at Camp Williams. He deployed to Afghanistan from 2006 to 2007 to provide mentoring and training for members of the Afghan National Army.
