SARATOGA SPRINGS — The police station here is becoming the butt of jokes, resident Don Markham said.
A California transplant, Markham said the jokes start when he shows his California friends around town, especially the police station.
"We have a double-wide," he reminded the City Council on Tuesday.
City leaders have been discussing how to give the 15-officer police force better digs, possibly moving them into space below city offices in an office complex on N. Commerce Drive.
The trailer was OK for awhile, police chief Gary Hickham told the Deseret News, "but I thought we'd be out of it by now.
Residents Justin Stewart and Cory Stewart also urged the council to continue looking at options for a better police station.
The station is located in about the center of the 9-mile long, 3-mile wide town on the western shores of Utah Lake.
