Utah Valley University is partnering with Alpine School District to offer cooking classes for the community.
The nonprofit partnership aims to enhance culinary skills of interested participants in three specific cooking arenas: Chinese, vegetarian and quick-cooking meal ideas.
Meals in Minutes teaches how to involve the whole family in meal preparation and presentation. The class is held Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., beginning Jan. 29, at The Wooden Spoon Kitchen at 241 Main in American Fork.
Vegetarian cooking classes, emphasizing alternatives to common ingredients, will also begin Jan. 29 at 6:30 p.m. and continue on Thursday evenings until Feb. 26 at Mountain View High School, 655 W. Center in Orem.
The Chinese cooking courses will be held on Tuesdays beginning Feb. 10 through March 3, also at Mountain View High School.
