Police are looking for a man who took money from a cash register at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory at Trolly Square Monday evening.
"The guy just leaned over the counter, grabbed the money and was gone," said Brookstone store manager Nicholas Stephenson, who saw the whole thing from the front of his store.
The man didn't use a gun or threaten with any other weapons, but Salt Lake City police still believe it was probably planned.
The man bought a 99-cent item and when the till popped open he stretched over the counter, grabbed a $100 bill and got away on foot.
Witnesses described the man as a 6 feet tall, Caucasian with long blond hair. He was wearing a red sweater and a red and black beanie hat.
