Qwest Wireless customers have less than a month to switch their service to another wireless provider because the company has decided to discontinue its cell-phone service on Oct. 31.

Last year, Qwest announced plans to leave the wireless business and began offering Verizon Wireless service to Qwest customers.

Qwest notes that cell-phone numbers are portable.

During September and October, Qwest Wireless customers who have not changed wireless service providers have been reminded of the discontinuation deadline by having their calls routed to a Qwest service representative.
