A nurse at a Salt Lake County nursing home, accused of taking an inappropriate picture of a patient, has been arrested.
A warrant was issued in July for Porfirio Meza Calderon, 44, on a charge of voyeurism, a class A misdemeanor. Detectives arrested him this week.
On June 5, 2008, a patient at Evergreen Canyons Health and Rehabilitation Center noticed a male nurse entering another patient's room, according to court documents. It appeared he was taking a picture with his phone.
The director and head nurse confronted Calderon and discovered a picture of one of the patients on his phone, the charges state.
In the suggestive photo in which the woman's nightgown was pulled up, the woman appeared to be sleeping.
Calderon said he took the picture "because he was worried about how the patient was sleeping, and he was going to show it to the patient's nurse," according to court records.
Calderon was fired shortly after the incident, said Salt Lake County Sheriff's Lt. Don Hutson.
