According to the Washington Times, former Utah Flash center and Jazz training camp participant James Lang has begun rehab after suffering a life-threatening stroke the day after Thanksgiving.
"They thought they were gonna lose him that night," his mother, Wanda Harris, who was told her son had blood clots throughout his body, told the Times. "It was unbelievable."
The 6-foot-10 Lang, 26, played 11 games for the Washington Wizards during the 2006-07 NBA season.
He's frequently battled high blood pressure issues, and his weight has fluctuated between 390 in high school in Alabama to 280 when last month the Flash waived him for "medical reasons."
Reported the Times: "His right side was paralyzed at first, but Lang has slightly moved his right arm and leg. He sat up in bed and watched a basketball game last weekend, Harris said, but he still cannot speak."
