The number of Utah National Guard soldiers deployed is at its lowest level since 2001.

No Utah Army National Guard units are deployed for duty inside Iraq or Afghanistan.

There are just a handful of Utah guardsmen with units from other states in both nations and there is a unit of Air National guardsmen flying aerial refueling missions out of Turkey.

Including noncombat missions in Latin America, about 3 percent of the Utah National Guard is currently deployed.

Since 2001, about 83 percent of the state's National Guard members have deployed and 55 of 56 units have deployed at least once. The 23rd Army Band is the only exception.
