The son of "A-Team" star George Peppard has struck a plea deal with Utah prosecutors over drug charges.

During an appearance in Salt Lake City's 3rd District Court on Thursday, Christian Peppard, 41, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a third-degree felony. In exchange, Salt Lake County prosecutors dropped a misdemeanor traffic charge.

Peppard received a suspended prison sentence and was given 24 months probation. He was also ordered to pay a $1,300 fine, court records show.

A Utah Highway Patrol trooper stopped Peppard's rental car outside Salt Lake City International Airport last year and, during a search of the vehicle, found two duffle bags with approximately 40 pounds of marijuana inside. At the time, the UHP said Peppard claimed to be headed to Michigan to visit his father's grave.
