NORTH SALT LAKE, Utah — The South Davis Special Needs Mutual will present its annual production April 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. in the Bountiful Regional Center, 835 N. 400 East, North Salt Lake. Admission is free.This year's production is dedicated to the late Maren Halversen, the young woman whose desire to participate more fully in church programs despite her disability inspired the Special Mutual program. She died last year. The program draws from 23 stakes from North Salt Lake to Kaysville.The production is titled \"Picture a Child of God\" and will feature approximately 125 special-needs youths. Karen Powell wrote the script with help from many program leaders. Powell is director, assisted by Derena Bell. Chris Brown and Barbie Elliott are music directors. Elliott is herself blind. Dancing is choreographed by Heather Linford and Michelle Glaittli. More than 30 volunteers have helped participants learn lines, places, music and dances. David Breitenbeker designed sets. Amy Royer headed costume design, and John Powell and Brian Powell oversaw production and graphic arts.Noted LDS artist Greg Olsen has consented for the production to use his painting \"Precious in His Sight.\"Jon Ord is president of the Young Men Mutual, and Jeanette Forrey heads the Young Women program.
