The Salt Lake City Library will sponsor "Superheroes: Powered by Books!" a special summer reading club for kids, June 6 to Aug. 15.

Participants under the age of 18 can "read down" their late book fines by $1 for every 10 minutes they read. And if they read to someone younger, both listener and reader will receive that credit.

There also will be a "Little Heroes" summer reading club for babies and toddlers.

"Get Out!" will be another teen summer reading program the library is sponsoring. Its kickoff party will be Friday, May 29, 3-6 p.m., at Library Square, 210 E. 400 South.

Sign up for any of the programs at any Salt Lake City Library service desk.
