"Pride and Prejudice," Jane Austen's classic, typically ranks among the elite when it comes to romance.
Women swoon at the very mention of the name Mr. Darcy — which is remarkable, considering the story was first published in 1813.
The basis for many television, film and stage adaptations, "Pride and Prejudice" will once again woo audiences when Spotlight Productions opens its show May 22-June 1.
This production is adapted for the stage by Brainerd Duffield and stars Kate Smith and Michael Jorgensen.
Shows are nightly, except Sunday, at 7:30 with a 2 p.m. matinee, May 23. It will play at the Sorenson Unity Center, 1383 S. 900 West. Tickets are $6-$9 (www.sorensonunitycenter.com).
"Disney's High School Musical on Stage," Creative Arts Academy, May 22 and 23, Bountiful High School, 695 S. Orchard Drive.
All of your favorite characters are back — Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay and the rest of the gang as they bop their way to the top. The show stars Preston Taylor, Jenna Cole, Jayne Edwards and Hayden Call.
Shows are each night at 7:30 with a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. Admission free, but donations are welcome.
