LDS Open Auditions is giving an LDS Church member the chance to sing
the national anthem during "Mormon Night" at Dodger Stadium this summer.Applications, which include a bishop's recommendation, can be downloaded at DeseretBook.com.
Applicants must be 18 years or older, be available to audition in
either Salt Lake City or Los Angeles if they make the final 50, and be
able to travel to Los Angeles to appear at the game. Contestants are
required to have performed previously in public.
Each applicant will be required to send a CD or DVD performance of
the national anthem, as well as one other song. A photo is also
required.
The deadline for applications is June 15, and "Mormon Night" will be Aug. 6 at Dodger Stadium.
The winner will sing the national anthem at the game and receive a
$1,500 prize, VIP tickets to the game, a video of their performance and
an audition with Shadow Mountain Records. Other finalists will receive
a cash prize and an audition.
