GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala — A pair of Church auxiliary leaders recently spent several days touring Central America where they taught scores of women of all ages the importance of service and gospel living.
Relief Society General President Julie B. Beck and Mary N. Cook, second counselor in the Young Women general presidency, also spent time in the homes of local families to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing women living in the Central America Area.
The two leaders were joined during stops in their visit by the Central America Area Presidency — Elder Don R. Clarke, Elder Enrique Falabella and Elder Shirley D. Christensen — along with their wives.
Relief Society sisters and young women gathered in meeting houses throughout Central America to listen to the counsel of the leaders. The various meetings were also transmitted via the Internet, allowing sisters who could not attend the meetings in person to participate in the training.
