Utah residents Gipper and Tony Finau will compete in the Golf Channel's 12th season of the popular "Big Break" series with 10 other golfers.
Premiering Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. Big Break Disney Golf will showcase a field of 12 males battling for the opportunity to play professional golf at the highest level. The Finau brothers grew up in the Rose Park area and now live in Lehi. They both turned professional in May 2007 when Tony was 17 and Gipper 16. That year, Tony made the cut at the PGA Tour event in Milwaukee, while Gipper set a Nationwide Tour record as the youngest player to make the cut the previous fall while still an amateur.
The series was shot mainly at the Magnolia and Palm courses at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Fla. The champion will receive an exemption to compete in the 2010 Children's Miracle Network Classic on the PGA Tour. To earn the exemption, the winner will have to defeat their competitors in a variety of challenges that test their physical skills and mental toughness.
