BOISE — Despite being outshot 41-16, the Grizzlies earned one point in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Steelheads.

Utah built a 2-0 lead on their first two power-plays and then tied the contest with 5:36 left in the third on a Tim Crowder goal.

Utah goaltender Mitch O'Keefe (11-5-1-1) stopped a season-high 37 of 40 shots through overtime.

GRIZZLIES NOTES: Forward James Sixsmith will rejoin the team from the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Sixsmith will meet the Grizzlies in Stockton for games Friday and Saturday.

Prior to his promotion on November 16, Sixsmith had tallied seven goals and 14 assists for 21 points in 12 games with Utah and led the ECHL with a plus-13. He was also fifth overall in scoring in the league.

Also joining the team are defenseman Kyle Radke and Matt Sorteberg from Idaho after they were traded for Dustin Friesen.

"We wanted to get a little deeper on the backend, and we are excited to add two solid defensemen in Matt and Kyle," said Grizzlies coach Kevin Colley. "It's a hard day to say goodbye to Dustin, but at the end, we had to do what's best for our hockey club as a whole."

Sorteberg, a rookie, has a plus-seven on the year while adding one goal and one assist in 20 games.
