Clyde Cos. Inc. has announced changes to its business structure and top management. It has been split into two new divisions: the Clyde/Geneva Group and the Clyde Business Group. Al Schellenberg will serve as president of the Clyde/Geneva Group and executive vice president of Clyde Cos., supervising the operations of Geneva Rock Products and W.W. Clyde & Co. Dave Hales will become president of W.W. Clyde & Co. and Jim Golding has been appointed to president of Geneva Rock. W.W. Clyde & Co. has been reorganized into two new divisions: Heavy Construction and Special Construction Projects. Rhys Weaver has been named president of the Clyde Business Group, which will include Sunroc Corp., Sunroc Building Products and Beehive Insurance. Jeremy Hafen has been appointed president of Sunroc Building Materials Inc., a new division of the Clyde Business Group. Kay Christofferson will be the president of Sunroc Corp., overseeing the construction division and the operations of Wyoming-based Gorge Rock Products and Idaho-based Clements Concrete. Dave Cook will become vice president of corporate communications at Clyde Cos., where he will oversee the marketing, public relations and audit functions for all of the Clyde companies. Brent Smith, as vice president of administration, will manage information technology, information management, business development and learning and development.

Pamela E. Beatse, Jesse A. Frederick II, R. Roman Groesbeck and Adam D. Wentz have joined the law firm Strong & Hanni as associate attorneys. Beatse has joined the Transportation, Employment Law and Government Liability practice groups. Her education includes degrees from Brigham Young University and the University of Utah. Frederick has joined the Medical Malpractice practice group. His education includes a degree from Westminster College. Groesbeck has joined the Business, Tax and Estate Planning and Commercial Litigation practice groups. His education includes a degrees from Westminster College. Wentz has joined the Transportation and Products Liability practice groups. His education includes degrees from Brigham Young University and the University of Utah.

Mary Relling of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has been elected to the Institute of Medicine, a branch of the National Academy of Sciences. Relling is chairwoman of St. Jude Pharmaceutical Sciences. Relling's research focuses on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics in children and how genome variability influences a child's response to cancer chemotherapy. Her education includes a degree from the University of Utah.

Rachel Naegeli has joined Jones Waldo Holbrook & McDonough PC as a paralegal in the law firm's St. George office. Naegeli specializes in international conflict resolution, international negotiation, international property rights and international business transactions.

Paul R. Liljenquist has been named president of Focus Direct Inc., a subsidiary of Focus Services LLC. He also will continue in his current role of director of sales and marketing for Focus Services. Liljenquist joined the Focus Services team in 2008 and has experience in many aspects of customer relationship management. Prior to Focus Services, he worked for another company as national accounts manager and another as national sales manager. His education includes a degree from Brigham Young University.

Brandon Pack has been named director of construction performance and design-build projects at Staker Parson Cos. He started with the company in 1992 as a grade setter and later advanced to other positions, including estimator and project manager for Four Corners Materials. Pack's education includes a degree from Brigham Young University.

Eric P. Nelson has taken over as president and chief executive officer of Mutual of Enumclaw Insurance Co., which operates in Utah and three other states. He succeeds Gerald P. Schmidt, who will remain on the company's board of trustees. Nelson previously was senior vice president.

Brad Vierig, assistant dean of executive education for the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business, has been appointed chairman of the Executive MBA Council. The group is dedicated to advancing the education of executives around the world. More specifically, the group serves as a mediator for collaboration among executive MBA programs from around the world. Vierig has served as assistant dean and director of the executive MBA program at the U. for nine years. In addition to his administrative role, he teaches the corporate finance class in the executive MBA program. Prior to joining the David Eccles School of Business, Vierig had a career that included 10 years as a senior financial executive with one company and 10 years in the auditing and accounting division of another.
