Reading President Boyd K. Packer's talk, it is clear what he is saying is that evil actions can be overcome. He never says all people will come to a point of feeling attraction to people of the opposite sex in this life. In fact he never says anything about sexual orientation or anything along those lines. He lays down the Lord's plan of a man marrying a woman.
Put another way, President Packer speaks in ways that are as unclearly speaking of sexual orientation as the passages in the Bible that the homosexual lobby tries to claim do not in fact require marriage to be between a man and a woman. He is a little more explicit on this issue, but only a little bit more.
In a lot of ways I am surprised that radical environmentalists are not going on a rampage for President Packer encouraging multiplying and replenishing the earth. Considering what parts of his statements did not incite protests from people goes a long way to explaining why people find the protests so disturbing.
