SALT LAKE CITY — The stars of the newest Harry Potter film were out in full force at the London premiere Thursday. At least they were all clothed, because that's not always the case in the film.
Last year, the director of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," David Yates, revealed actor Daniel Radcliffe will be naked in two different scenes; one of them will involve co-star Emma Watson.
Yates told the London Telegraph, "It's where Hermione and Harry dance together and is not in the book. It's something we create for the film and is actually very tender."
One local fan coming out of a South Salt Lake movie theater, who hasn't seen the new Harry Potter film yet, wasn't very happy.
"I don't think the movies need to go with that kind of content, because it was not in the book," Brian Goodwin said.
He said while he understands the movies and characters have grown up along the way, he doesn't understand why they would need to throw a nude scene in the film.
Goodwin thinks the addition could force parents to leave the young kids home.
"I hope it does," he said. "There is an appropriate place for that, and it shouldn't be in this movie whatsoever."
On the other hand, movie-goer Marsha Jones wasn't concerned, even though the books and movies are meant for kids.
"I think we put too much of a negative association with the human body, and people get naked every day. You take off your clothes to take a shower. I just don't see the problem with it," Jones said.
Most movie-goers Deseret News spoke with didn't even know about the nude scenes.
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One" opens up nationwide Nov. 19.
