SOUTH SALT LAKE — A man was found severely beaten outside an IHOP Restaurant early Monday, and police are looking for customers seen in surveillance video exiting the restaurant shortly after the victim.
Cable Patrick Thompson, 24, of Salt Lake City was found in the parking lot at 307 W. 2100 South "lying in a pool of blood" according to police. Thompson was taken to an area hospital in critical, life-threatening condition.
Police have arrested 30-year-old Jose Fimiano Moya for investigation of aggravated assault, a second-degree felony. Moya has not been formally charged.
South Salt Lake police want to speak with a group of young people seen in a surveillance video exiting the restaurant shortly after the victim. Individuals who recognize the patrons are asked to contact South Salt Lake police at 801-840-4000.
