SALT LAKE CITY — Fifteen watercolor paintings by Elder Richard G. Scott of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles are now on display at the flagship Deseret Book store, 45 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City.

The pieces on display include representations of the people and places Elder Scott has encountered throughout his life, including several of his late wife and the street they lived on in Maryland. Others carry more symbolic meanings of beauty, trials and comfort through obedience.

Elder Scott's desire to paint began 40 years ago after observing a friend's artistic abilities. He has since studied watercolor books and taken lessons to develop his understanding and cultivate his personal interest in art.
