Deon Elise Sherwood 1922 ~ 2010
Deon "Leasy" Sherwood passed away peacefully on December 14, 2010 in Centerville, UT. Loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be remembered for the twinkle in her eyes, her love of dancing, travel and food, and the pleasure she took in nature and the simple things of life. Born June 25, 1922 to Mary and Frank Daly in Eureka, UT. Employed by Sperry Univac for more than 20 years. Deon loved the mountains of Utah and the beaches of California. Once bitten by the travel bug, she was always willing to hop in the car or on a plane at a moment's notice. Her travels took her to Europe, New York, Mexico and throughout the United States. A faithful member of the LDS Church, she loved to visit the temple. Deon is survived by her son Russell Whittaker, granddaughter Pamela (Jayson) Orvis and great-grand-children as well as her sister Beverly (Dutch) Estheimer, brother Larry Daly and beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main St., Bountiful at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary in Bountiful.
