I am appalled that your paper gave validation to PETA by printing their comments about the live nativity at Liberty Park ("Live Nativities," Dec. 26). The remark they made about it being unethical to use live animals in a nativity because it could be cold is childish and ridiculous. Do they think its colder at Liberty Park than where those animals would be otherwise?

What PETA doesn't know, or bother to check out, is that no one cares for animals with more love and concern than do their owners, the Ivies. PETA says animals are often transported inhumanely. Their owners have built a custom trailer for their camel for his comfort and that of the other animals. These people devote their lives to their animals. They don't have animals to exploit them. These people have animals because they love them.

PETA's opinions of what's ethical are detached from fact and truth. They are an extremist group that uses terrorism to further their agenda, setting fire to private property, and assaulting others for their choice to wear furs. Giving them voice aids their terrorism.
