OREM — A 14-year-old boy faces DUI and other possible charges for drinking and driving in a stolen vehicle Friday night.
The boy and his 13-year-old female passenger were first reported to police when he drove into a fence and backed up into another vehicle outside a mobile home park near 500 North and 1200 West.
The underage duo were gone by the time police showed up, but a call about a suspicious vehicle turned up the location of the stolen vehicle. An officer attempted to pull over the car, but the vehicle took off. The driver pulled over a short time later near 200 North and 500 West.
The driver was arrested and taken to juvenile detention. The girl was released to her family.
Orem Police Sgt. Craig Martinez said the boy faces DUI "Not a Drop," which means he was below a .08 blood alcohol level, along with possession of a stolen vehicle, no driver's license, no insurance, false information and more.
