NEW YORK — A student team from Brigham Young University took first place Thursday in the Americas Investment Research Challenge in New York City.

By prevailing against other colleges and universities from throughout the Americas, BYU advances to the global challenge in Hong Kong on April 17 against other regional winners plus the winner from the New York Society of Securities Analysts.

The Global Investment Research Challenge, sponsored by CFA Institute, is the final event in a multi-phase elimination process as competitors write and present research on a local public company. Industry professionals determine the winners at each round.
