Hershella Marie
Delliskave
1926 ~ 2010
My wife and sweetheart, our mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother passed away on April 8, 2010 in Beaumont, California
following a long illness surrounded by her loving family.
My sweetheart was born on July 8, 1926 in Westwood, California. She moved to Utah at an early age where we met and started our life together. In 1957 we moved our family to California.
She was a homemaker and foster mother to many for most of her life. She loved babies and caring for children. She had many talents that she willingly shared. She was an
excellent seamstress, creating many beautiful articles of clothing for family and friends. In her early years she also loved to paint. Later in life she became an active member in the LDS Church and was sealed to her sweetheart in the Jordan River Temple.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, John; six children: Felix (Tina) Delliskave, MO; Chrie Paletta, South Jordan, UT; John Edward Delliskave, AZ; Renetta (Mitch) Howe, UT; Sharon (Michael) Stiebing, CA; 18 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Bonnie Sorenson, CA. A son Richard, son-in-law Michael Paletta, and daughter-in-law Gayle Delliskave preceded her in death.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street. A viewing will be from 12-1 p.m. at the mortuary prior to the service, and her final resting place will be at the Murray City Cemetery following the service.
