Years ago, when Elvis Presley was at the top of his game, a reporter asked him why he stuck with Col. Tom Parker, his original manager. Surely he could have had his pick of Hollywood's best. Presley's answer was, "Because we shook on it."

During his 1976 campaign against three-term Sen. Ted Moss, Orrin Hatch said that the senator should go because he had been in Washington too long. Come 2012, Hatch will be up for his seventh term.

During the 1992 campaign, Bob Bennett promised the voters that if elected, he would serve no more than two terms.

It's a sad day for Utahns when a Las Vegas casino singer has higher ethical standards than our United States senators.
