SALT LAKE CITY — Gov. Gary Herbert has appointed a Utah County attorney as a judge in the 4th Judicial District.

M. James Brady, a partner in the Provo law firm of Bradford & Brady, will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Howard Maetani.

"Jim has spent the last 28 years developing a solid reputation and earning the respect of his colleagues through his legal work and his professionalism" Herbert said. "His commitment to public service is clear, and I look forward to the contributions he will make from the bench."

Brady's practice focuses on domestic, business and land use litigation. He has a law degree from Brigham Young University.
