Kathleen "Kathy" Bates has joined the law firm Parr Brown Gee & Loveless as its new legal administrator. Bates succeeds Guy Frost, who retired after 26 years of service. Bates has experience working in the legal and accounting industries, having spent the past 14 years working for a pair of Salt Lake City law firms and an accounting firm.

Sean Fuller has been appointed to manage the Salt Lake City branch office of Scottrade. Most recently, Fuller served as a senior stock broker in Scottrade's Cottonwood Heights branch office. His education includes a degree from Westminster College.

Bruce Jensen has joined England Logistics as vice president of finance and business development. He will oversee several areas at England Logistics, including acquisitions, finance, claims, credit, billing, recruiting and training. Jensen has more than 16 years of experience in the business and finance industry, most recently as director of finance for a Utah County-based company. He will continue to be involved in Cherish Bound, a company he helped co-found. His education includes a degree from BYU.

Alec Anderson has been elected secretary/treasurer for the Utah Funeral Directors' State Association. Anderson is vice president of Anderson & Sons Mortuary in American Fork. He has served for four years as the District II representative for the association and as the chairman for the Disaster, Medical Examiner and Organ Recovery committees for the same period. He currently serves the association as the policy board representative for Utah.

David W. Tufts has been appointed to the board of directors of the law firm Durham Jones & Pinegar. He is a trial attorney who handles business litigation, including state and federal trials as first chair, and appeals before the Utah Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. He also sits as a judge pro tempore in the Small Claims Division of the 2nd District Court in Layton. Tufts has more than 15 years of litigation experience. Within the firm, Tufts also serves as chairman of DJP's Recruiting Committee. He is the past chairman of the firm's Associate Development Committee.

Brett Hodson and Derek Stanek have joined Love Communications as account coordinators. Hodson's focus will be the agency's public awareness campaigns and health-related accounts. He has experience in public relations, advertising and social marketing, most recently working at a media company in Park City. His education includes degrees from the University of Utah. Stanek will focus on the agency's political, governmental and "cause" marketing assignments. He has experience in radio sales, nonprofit communications and marketing, most recently working with the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
