SALT LAKE CITY — Rio Tinto and Kennecott Utah Copper will be sponsoring outdoor film screenings at the Utah State Capitol and at Pioneer Park.

Both screening series, Movies Under the Stars at the State Capitol and Rock Docs at Pioneer Park, will be free and open to the public. All movies will start at dusk.

"The tradition of sitting on a blanket in a park with our neighbors on a beautiful summer night represents Kennecott's sustainable development vision by actively participating with our local community," said Kelly Sanders, president and CEO of Kennecott.

For more information about Movies Under the Stars, which runs from July 1 to Aug. 26, visit www.utahstatecapitol.utah.gov. For information on Rock Docs, which runs from July 30-Aug. 27, visit www.slcfilmcenter.org.

"Many of this year's movies were filmed right here in Utah, which is just one more reason to celebrate," said Utah Gov. Gary Herbert.
