COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS — Cottonwood Animal Hospital has joined 16 other general veterinary practices around the country to form the Companion Animal Practices North America Corp., the Utah office has announced.

The group predicts revenues of $17 million in its first year and hopes to double in size in the next. It is 92 percent veterinarian-owned, according to a media release from the hospital.

The corporation's goal is to let individual practices operate independently while allowing them to share in "economies of scale" benefits such as staffer mobility, cost efficiencies and risk management.
