COLUMBUS, Ohio — Republican Ohio Gov. John Kasich (KAY-sihk) has taken a second oath of office before a crowd of thousands.

Monday's ceremony at the Ohio Theatre in downtown Columbus was marked by band music, religious music and a pledge of allegiance led by his twin daughters' elementary school class.

The 58-year-old Kasich and Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor were sworn in ceremonially at the event.

On hand were dignitaries including U.S. House Speaker John Boehner (BAY'-nur) of Ohio, GOP U.S. Sen. Rob Portman; former Republican Gov. Bob Taft; and zookeeper and TV host Jack Hannah from the Columbus Zoo.
