Hilda Spilker Dautel 1916 ~ 2011
Hilda Spilker Dautel, beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on January 14, 2011 in Murray, Utah. Born January 21, 1916 to Wilhelm and Johanne Stelbrink Spilker in Schieldeshe, Prussia, Germany. She came to America with her family in 1922 settling in SLC. Married Gustave Henreich Dautel on August 16, 1938 in the SLC temple, together they raised a family of six children and greatly assisted many relatives in coming to America, both financially and providing a place to live. Hilda will be deeply missed by many who loved her, she worked for over 30 years at SL City & County Building and Hi-Grade Meats, family always came first - kind, helpful, giving to all who knew her and a great cook! Survived by sons Bill (Pia) Dautel, Dave Dautel, Steven (Dorothy) Dautel, daughter Joanie (Richard) Hans, brother Chris Spilker, 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grand-children. Preceded in death by her dear husband of 53 years, Gustave, sisters Hertha Schuif, Erna Spilker, Elfriede Pezold, daughter Charlotte Dautel Dukes, son Danny Dautel. A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 20th between 1-2 p.m. at Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan with grave side service following.
