Firth Kay Armitage 1932 ~ 2010

Kay always did things his way, and he held true to this in his passing. He passed away on December 31, 2010 at home, surrounded by his loved ones.Kay was born December 7, 1932 to Firth Settle Armitage and Mabel LaVern Luker. Kay ran off to Elko, Nevada with his sweetheart Connie on October 12, 1949. They shared 61 years together as husband and wife. A well respected business man in the Painting and Decorating trade, Kay was President and CEO for FS Armitage Sons, Inc. He oversaw many Utah landmarks throughout his career such as the University of Utah Hospital, The Salt Palace, the new LDS Assembly Hall and the Rio-Tinto Stadium, to mention only a few of his accomplishments. Kay held several elected positions with the local and national PDCA. Kay was a Utah native and an avid hunter and a life-time member of B.W.B. But his true passion was fly fishing with his friends and son. Kay and Connie spent many wonderful years together showing and raising their beloved dogs. Kay and Connie explored the world together traveling to Ireland, England, Canada, Mexico, and all over the United States. They have many cherished memories. Kay is survived by his wife Connie, his three children, Jackie Armitage Cleminson, Colleen "Cody" (Jim) Burton, Brad Armitage, his three grandchildren, Alex (LuAnna,) McKenna and A.J. and two great-grand-daughters. A celebration of Kay's life will be held on January 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Crescent View 10th Ward, at 10945 South 17th East, Sandy, Utah. Online condolences: www.larkincares.com.
