Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Greenhalgh, 79, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, January 1st, 2011. She is now relieved from a seven year struggle with Alzheimer's. Betty was born September 29, 1931 in Ogden, Utah to Robert T. and Elsie Viola Eddy Weir. She lived in Salt Lake City, Utah where she met her loving husband Harry Dean Greenhalgh, in 1945. She graduated from Granite High School in Salt Lake and later married her sweetheart on June 19, 1948 in her father's home. Three years later they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 11, 1951. They lived in Bountiful, Utah for years then moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1990. Betty was a faithful member of the LDS church. She loved to sing and was a member of the Tabernacle Choir, the Utah Opera Co and the Allegro Choir. Her other Talents included: dancing, poetry, photography, gardening, animals and insects, and her grandchildren. She is survived by: her husband Harry D. Greenhalgh, her five children: Julia (Russell) Abney, Sandra (Clifford) Jeffers, Cindy Anderson, Dennis D. "Buzz" Greenhalgh, and Stacy (Darin) Harker, her sister Linda Bowers, brother Bob Weir, 30 grandchildren, 45 great-grand-children with one on the way. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m on January 8, 2011 at Myers Mortuary on 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service.
