The recent letter by Jackie M. Smith complained that it's a "slap in the face" to the American people to have President Obama take so many vacations ("Too much vacation," Jan. 4). According to Factcheck.org, President Obama took a total of 26 vacation days in the first year of his presidency. George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan both took more vacation days than this. In the first year of his presidency, President Bush took 77 vacation days; Ronald Reagan took 42 days.
