SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Public Safety said one person was killed after the speeding vehicle ran into the back of another car and went out of control on I-80 near Parleys Summit.
The east bound car ran off the roadway at 4:09 p.m. Tuesday, went through a barbed wire fence, down an embankment and crashed into a telephone pole. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other motorist suffered minor injuries.
No names have been released.
