LOS ANGELES — If Taylor Embree's father can't walk with him on Senior Day at the Rose Bowl because he's too busy firing up UCLA's opponents, the Bruins receiver will understand.
Embree has been anticipating Saturday's weird reunion ever since he saw Colorado at the bottom of the Bruins' schedule.
Jon Embree is the Buffaloes' first-year head coach, taking over his struggling alma mater's program after spending time as an assistant coach at UCLA.
Taylor was born in Denver, and the 23-year-old receiver knew Colorado's fight song before he learned the Pledge of Allegiance. He's still eager to beat his father's Buffaloes, who stand in the way of UCLA's sixth victory and probable bowl eligibility.
Jon Embree is proud of his son's career, but says Taylor will be just another Bruin once the game begins.
