Madelyn Virginia Otley Goldsberry OldroydBeloved mother, grandmother, sisterMadelyn unexpectedly returned to her Heavenly Father on November 1, 2011 as a result of an automobile accident.She was born on August 19, 1942 in Salt Lake City, UT to William and Virginia Grace Otley. She lived her whole life in Salt Lake City, graduated from West High School. Worked for Social Services moved on to work for Social Security for 34 years. She was a Den mother in Cub Scouts, taught Primary and enjoyed volunteering at elementary schools. Loved to travel went on cruises and visited other countries. She loved visiting with her grandchildren and family. She loved gardening especially her roses. Another one of her passions was trying new foods and attending plays. She will be remembered for her long talks, loving counsel, compassionate, supporting demeanor and unique sense of humor. She is survived by her children Kevin (Wendy), Kathi (Bob) Cyphers, Kris Fulbright, Kalvin (Ann); 11 grandchildren; brother Randy (Judy) Otley; and many extended family members.Preceded in death by parents and her husband Jim.Viewing will be held on Sunday, November 6th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 7th at 11:30 at the 32nd Ward, 1401 West 700 South, Salt Lake City, where viewing will also be held from 10:00 11:00 AM, prior to the service.
