Jonas Lee Webster 1975 ~ 2011
Jonas Lee Webster, age 35, died February 22, 2011 in Salt Lake City after a brave battle with many illnesses. He was a warrior and fought to the end.He was born August 21, 1975 to Dennis Lee and Kathy Todd Webster. He graduated from Taylorsville High School in 1993 where he enjoyed being on the swim team and playing polo. Jonas met his future bride Brittney, while the two of them were working as lifeguards. After serving an LDS mission to Bahia Blanca, Argentina from 1994-1996, he married the love of his life Brittney Leary. They were married on June 26, 1997 in the Salt Lake Temple. He graduated from the University of Utah in 2003 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was an amazing daddy to his three boys that he loved and adored with all his heart. He was pursuing his PhD when in 2007, he became too ill to continue his education. He loved learning, doing research for his PhD, and spending time with his family. Some of his hobbies were reading books on physics, solving logic puzzles, and being in the outdoors. He worked for Summit Microelectronics and loved his work and the association with his co-workers. As a family we deeply appreciate their kindness and support during his illness. He loved having fun with his boys, they especially enjoyed fishing and camping together. Sam loved playing Xbox with his dad, Ben loved building legos with him, and Jack loved pretending to be his doctor when he was being taken care of at home by Brittney. He loved watching the Utes play and has taught his boys to be true fans of the 'RED'. Go Utes! Jonas was kind, loving, and compassionate. He followed the example of Christ by never judging others. His example and infectious smile will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Brittney, his three darling sons, Sam (7), Ben (5), and Jack (2). Parents, Denny and Kathy, sister, Melissa Person, brother, Tyler (Mandi), Grandma Alberta Webster, three nephews, two nieces and many extended family members. Preceded in death by his Grandma and Grandpa Todd, Grandpa Webster and brother-in-law, Jesse Person. Special heart felt thanks to the liver team, doctors and staff at the University of Utah Hospital. Especially Dr. Shami, Dr. Liou, Dr. Boynton, and Dr. Hutson who worked endlessly to find a cure for his illnesses. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. at the West Bountiful Stake Chapel, 1930 North 600 West, West Bountiful, Utah. Family and friends may call Friday evening 6-8 p.m. at the chapel or Saturday 10:30-12:00 noon prior to the service. Interment at the Bountiful Cemetery. Funeral directors SereniCare.
