"5 Spiritual Solutions for Everyday Parenting Challenges," by Richard and Linda Eyre, Deseret Book, 166 pages, $19.99

Being a parent is demanding. No other job requires as much work or as much worry as raising children. No matter how hard you try, sometimes it seems that you just can’t succeed.

However, Richard and Linda Eyre, recognized parenting experts, believe that remembering some simple, spiritual truths will empower parents to be their best.

In their new book, “5 Spiritual Solutions for Everyday Parenting Challenges,” the Eyres motivate parents to tackle family struggles by including the Spirit in their game plan.

“The beauty of spiritual solutions is that they don’t completely depend on you,” they write. “They rely on the Spirit, and on the priesthood and on the Heavenly Father of us all and they lift our burdens rather than make them heavier.”

Richard and Linda are the parents of nine grown children and authors of more than 25 books on parenting and values. As popular speakers, they have traveled the world to share their message on parenting and families. However, they are seldom able to share the spiritual side of their parenting beliefs.

“We feel a longing to be able to tell these good people eternal truths about who their children really are, what plan and purpose God had in sending them and the personal help he will give us as we raise them,“ Richard said.

This book gives them that opportunity. It outlines five straightforward strategies that mothers and fathers can implement to invite the Savior into their parenting. With creative ideas and scriptural insights, the Eyres share inspired lessons from their own experiences and from other innovative parents they have met.
