Music that strengthens, uplifts and inspires is an ingredient of every general conference session. A medley of unique performances pepper each conference, inviting the Spirit and opening our hearts to hear words of counsel.
Powerful musical performances presented in general conference are available to the public at no cost. Since the fall session of 2008, www.lds.org has offered general conference addresses and musical performances as free downloads.
To create general conference music playlist, go to a specific general conference page on www.lds.org that includes the list of talks and click the words “Show Music.” Once the music is displayed with the conference talks, click on the song you would like to download. This will open a new window where you will be able to watch, listen, download or share the music.
Clicking the word “Download” will drop down a menu of various file formats. Right clicking “Audio MP3” and selecting “Save Target As...” will open a small download progress screen and a “Save As” screen. In the “Save As” screen you will choose a location on your computer to save the file. On this screen, the file can also be renamed. Once you click “Save” on the “Save As” screen, the file will be downloaded into your computer.
Windows Media Playlist
On your computer open Windows Media Player. On the left side of the screen click “Create Playlist” and name the list. Click “File” in the top left hand corner of the screen. This will open a menu. Click “Open.” In the Open screen find the location of the MP3 file on your computer. Select the file and click “Open.” On the left side of the screen select “Now Playing.” Holding down the left click button, drag and drop the title into the playlist you have created. Repeat the process for each song you want in your play list.
iTunes Playlist
Open iTunes on your computer. In the top left corner of the screen click “File.” Click “Add File to Library.” In the “Add File to Library” screen locate the MP3 file on your computer. Click “Open.” Once again click “File” in the top left corner of the screen. Click “New Playlist.” Name the playlist. On the left hand side of the screen, under “Library,” select “Music.” Use the search box in the top right-hand side of the screen and search for the title of the MP3 file you added. Once you locate the song drag and drop the title into the new playlist.
Uplifting and inspiring music can now be enjoyed at home or work with push-button convenience.
