Linda Deon Milligan Rees 1941 ~ 2011
Linda Deon Milligan Rees, 69, beloved mother and grandmother slipped peacefully from this life on May, 2, 2011 in West Point, Utah. In waging her long and valiant battle with breast cancer, Linda fought the good fight, she finished the race, she kept the faith, she endured to the end.Linda was born June 21, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Howard Ira Milligan and Mary Gold Armstrong. Linda was a faithful lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served the Lord in many Church callings. She worked for the LDS Distribution Services for 20 years. Linda had a beautiful singing voice and loved music. She was a skilled seamstress and loved exploring her family history. But her greatest legacy is the strength of her faith and of her family. Linda is survived by her six children: Jay (Sina) Rees, Rynae (Marv) Bowden, Brian Rees, Lynn Rees, Allan (Amanda) Rees, and David (Gina) Rees; ten grandchildren (with two more on the way); one sister, Marilyn (Ernie) Haupt and one brother, Gordon (Gloria) Milligan. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Rod Milligan; and sister, Arlyne Stump. There will be a viewing from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2011 and 10 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Butler West Stake Center, 1845 East 7200 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Funeral services will follow the viewing at 11 a.m. on Friday at the same address. Graveside services will take place immediately after the funeral at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. Linda's family would like to give thanks to the dedicated nurses of Rocky Mountain Care-especially Liz, Mallory and Stephanie-for their care and comfort of Linda over the last few months.
