Sedella Fern Dean Boren, 86, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, passed away on June 8, 2011 of causes incident to age. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born January 4, 1925, the first of eight living children to Gladys LaRancy Donegan and Harry William Dean in Twin Bridges, Montana. She was raised in Eureka, Utah where she graduated from Tintic High School. She married Jack Ray Boren on June 1, 1943, shortly before Jack went off the war in the Navy during World War II. Sedella and Jack lived in Provo for a few years after the war. They built their home and settled in Pleasant Grove, where they lived and raised two children, a son, Jack D and four years later their daughter Jill. In her youth, she was a member of the Methodist Church. Later, she was baptized and was active much of her life in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a primary teacher and leader, taught young women, worked in genealogy and family history records and in the women's Relief Society organization serving wherever she was able. She was found often in service to her neighbors and especially her family. Sedella is survived by her children, Jack D. Boren (Elizabeth), San Jose, California, and Jill Boren Fugal (Daniel), Pleasant Grove; seven grandchildren, Scott Boren (Peggy), Brooke B. Ford (Chris), Jeremy Boren, Brandon Fugal (Lacey), Cameron Fugal (Danielle), Patrick Fugal, Matthew Fugal (Kathleen), and 19 great grandchildren. Sedella is also survived by sisters, Dalena Kaatz of Sheridan, Montana; Adelza Bardsley of West Valley City, Utah; Lynette Carter of Layton, Utah; and a brother, Ray Dean of Grantsville, Utah. Along with her husband Jack, her brothers, Elwood and Bill Dean, and a sister Jeanine D. Johnson, preceded her in death. The family wishes to express appreciation for the kind care Sedella received from the wonderful people at the Charleston Assisted Living Center in Cedar Hills, and Envision Hospice Care. Services will be held Monday, June 13, 2011 at 12:00 noon at the North Field Fourth Ward Chapel, 408 West 1300 North, Pleasant Grove, Utah. For family and friends there will be a viewing prior to services between 10:00-11:45 a.m. Interment will take place at the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
