SALT LAKE CITY — A woman was killed Saturday when she was thrown from a vehicle after it rolled on I-15.
Utah Highway Patrol reported that a white SUV that was carrying 10 passengers and towing a car behind it, had swerved to avoid hitting another car that had cut in front of the SUV. The action resulted in the SUV rolling on the freeway, between 600 South and the I-80 exit ramp, and landing on its top.
Gladys Zamora, 36, of Las Vegas, was sitting in the back of the SUV. She was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled and died from head and neck injuries. Officials say she was not wearing a seat belt.
Four children in the SUV were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and everyone else was unscathed from the accident. All other seat belts were used, according to the Department of Public Safety.
