ST. GEORGE — A personal fitness trainer who pleaded guilty to having a sexual relationship with a teenage client has been sentenced to prison.
Suni Faith Andersen, 36, fainted Tuesday when 5th District Judge Eric Ludlow ordered her to spend concurrent terms of one to 15 years behind bars for two counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony, according to court records.
A recess was called, but court was back in session 15 minutes later when Andersen confirmed she was coherent and able to proceed.
The woman pleaded guilty to the charges in November. In exchange for her plea, five counts of forcible sodomy, a first-degree felony, and three counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony, were dismissed.
The relationship with the boy began when he was 14 and continued until he was 16.
Police said the relationship began when Andersen made sexual advances toward the boy. Eventually, the two engaged in sexual activity during the teen's training sessions at Andersen's home.
