NEW ORLEANS — Jarrett Lee kept LSU's championship hopes alive.
Jordan Jefferson is trying to see them through to the finish.
Lee was the starter early in the season, leading the Tigers to a perfect start. But he struggled mightily when the top-ranked Tigers played Alabama in November, and Jefferson came into the game and led LSU to a 9-6 victory in overtime. He hasn't given up the starting job since.
The two quarterbacks have taken plenty of big-game snaps for LSU, often shuffling in and out of the lineup at coach Les Miles' whim. But there is little doubt heading into Monday night's BCS title game — a rematch against Alabama — that this has become Jefferson's team.

Still, Lee will be standing on the sideline, ready whenever he's called upon.
