Violet Edith Larsen1920 - 2012Salt Lake City, UTViolet Edith Urry Larsen, age 92, passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah on Monday December 24, 2012. Edith was born November 29, 1920 to parents Violet Betts Urry and Harold Phillips Urry in Salt Lake City. Much of her character was formed in her early years being the oldest child of her family. She was a teenager during the Great Depression and shouldered many responsibilities in assisting her parents in raising their family. Edith was a diligent and faithful daughter. She graduated from Granite High School and started work the very next day. She worked continuously until she married Richard Warren Larsen on June 10th, 1945. From that point on, she was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was a member of the LDS church. Edith didn't give up on things even when they became hopelessly difficult. She lived a valiant life to her last breath. She had an almost unlimited capacity for work. She was amazingly detailed and had a remarkable memory. She was the epitome of the saying, "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without." She endured the loss of almost all of her family before her own death and just kept going. She is survived by son Richard Allen Larsen (Pam), sisters Lucile Davies (Clyde), Jeanette Henstrom (Tom, deceased), seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Edith was preceded in death by husband Richard W., sons Brian Philip and Ronald Evan (Jeanne), her parents, sisters June Urry and Bernice Urry, and brothers Owen Urry (Julie) and Don Urry (Jerry, deceased). Funeral services will be held Saturday December 29, 2012 at 2 p.m. in Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held on the same day, one hour prior to services. Interment will be held at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
