James Christian Mehner1969 ~ 2012James Christian Mehner passed away on Thursday night, March 22, 2012, due to an auto accident at the age of 42. James has lived with type 1 diabetes since he was 5 years old and has returned to his loving Heavenly Father and all those loved ones who have gone before him.James was born the eldest child in El Monte, Cal. on April 21, 1969. He grew up in Southern California and Las Vegas with his loving parents of his mother Sonja and stepfather Albert Hamilton, and also in Salt Lake City with his father Steven and stepmother Christine Mehner. He is survived by his brothers Jason, Ben, David, and his sisters Kathy and Lori, as well as his best friend Angel. James served a two-year mission in Munich, Germany, where he served the Lord Jesus Christ of whom he truly loved throughout his whole life. He attended college at UVU where he met his wife of 20 years, Leslie Lyons. They have three surviving children, Michael, Lance and Amanda. He loved his whole family more than life.He was in the Order of the Arrow and enjoyed serving in the Scouts for many years. He loved to embrace his Celtic Heritage and wear his Kilt to all Scottish festivals and formal occasions. He loved music with all his heart.He will be greatly missed by those who have known and loved him. His family wishes to express their love and gratitude to all those for their support and love and for the love given to Jimmy throughout his life.Funeral viewing will be held at Goff Mortuary, on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. Address is 8090 S.
